What is E-Cheque?

An E-Cheque is not different from a paper cheque. E-Cheque converts the paper to an electronic record for easier & faster transactions while maintaining all other features.

What is What are the advantages of E-Cheques?

- Easier and more convenient. - Deposits can happen using electronic channels 24x7 as opposed to only during branch operation times. - More secure and signed with private keys using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology. - Can’t be lost or stolen.

Are there any service fees?

There is no fees or charges when depositing the cheque.

Who is eligible to use E-Cheque?

Any customer having an IBAN in Bahrain is eligible. A customer can register an issuer of E-Cheque or a beneficiary receiving and depositing E-Cheques.

Does paying EWA bills by using E-Cheques have maximum or minimum limit for their value?

An E-Cheque has no minimum or maximum value.

What are the steps to pay Ewa bills by e-cheque?

- You can use the service by downloading e-cheque App or visiting the portal corporate.echeque.bh.
- Make sure to use EWA customer code (80470000-UNIT_CODE) throughout the transaction.
- After depositing the cheque, please send an email to CAD.Remittance@ewa.bh with the details of EWA account(s) that you wish to pay. - If the payment process is successful, you will receive a payment receipt via email from the authority.
