An illegal connection is the use of electricity or water in violation of the Authority’s regulations for their consumption in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The following list represents the different types of illegal connections:
- Consuming water or electricity without a meter.
- Tampering or damaging the meter to affect the readings.
- Consuming water or electricity after being cut by the Authority.
- Consuming or allowing consumption of subsidized water when not allowed.
- Removing, reinstalling, or changing the location of connections without permission (e.g., unauthorized plumbing).
- Placing barriers to make the meter inaccessible to readings.
- Installing a water pump before the tank.
- Failing to inform the authority of the demolition of a property to remove the meter boxes and connections.
- Providing another property with water or electricity.
- Having any connection that does not conform to specifications of the Authority.
