Funded by Saudi Development in the KSA Completion of construction of Khalifa Bin Salman Port Water Distribution Terminal



​His Excellency the Minister of EWA, Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, and His Excellency Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of EWA, visited the Khalifa bin Salman Port Water Distribution Station in the Hidd Industrial Area, which has been completed, and which comes within the project of developing the water transmission network for the first stage.

 

This project aims to increase and enhance the storage capacity and pumping of water to the Khalifa Bin Salman Port Station, in order to meet the needs of the industrial areas and the strategy of Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

 

The Electricity and Water Authority has developed the Khalifa Bin Salman Port Station after an agreement with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to convert this station to the Electricity and Water Authority to manage and develop it in accordance with the operational and storage standards and specifications of the transmission networks and water stations of the Electricity and Water Authority. Two wrought iron underground tanks with a capacity of 5 million gallons each have been constructed, as well as a new building containing three pumps with a capacity of 3.8 million gallons per day for each pump with electrical appliances and control devices. The overhead tank, which has a capacity of one million gallons, has also been rehabilitated.

 

Pan Gulf Panorama Contracting has constructed all the station facilities and provided them with the latest mechanical, electrical, control and communication equipment from leading international companies in this field, through a contract amounting to about (10.6) million dinars, which was funded by the Saudi Fund for Development within the Gulf Support Program. Mot Macdonald, a British consultancy, oversaw the project.

 

On this occasion, the Minister of EWA thanked the Saudi Fund for Development in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the continuous support to the Kingdom of Bahrain in its development projects, especially the electricity and water sectors, as this project adds an additional building block in supporting and strengthening the infrastructure in the Kingdom.

 

The CEO of the EWA confirmed that the authority’s water strategy is to increase the storage capacity through the application of the water extension system so that the authority provides a strategic stock for three days in excess of 550 million gallons per day, while the subscribers store the same amount in their facilities - each according to his consumption according to the system Water extensions, which would double the storage capacity in the Kingdom.

 

The establishment of this station comes within the master plan drawn up by the Electricity and Water Authority to develop and expand water transmission networks in our beloved Kingdom in light of the directives and concerns of the wise leadership, headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Crown Prince The esteemed Prime Minister, to provide electricity and water services and meet the growing demand for their use for the purposes of development and industrial and commercial expansion, and the continuous endeavor to provide better service to citizens and residents of the Kingdom and work to attract foreign investments to the Kingdom that are in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
